Unsettling Ascent

Branches bold and gnarled roots
Bark weathered by the rain
Lumbering limbs strive to climb
The elder tree again

Not far from the soggy ground
Unease settles in once more
The heaviest of silences
Bear ill tidings in store

Slowly fades the eagerness
Descending down the trunk
Lowering from branch to branch
The fun has slowly sunk

About corkedbottle

Hello hello. I'm a guy that likes to write and is really good at not writing. I've never thought of myself as a good writer, but it's fun, and I'll never get better if I don't write more!
